The game is simple.
Open the image of the zip: tuile_motif
We find 2 images in PSP there.
On the image 1tuiles, we have 7 layers.
If you want one of the layers to be used as a pattern, you must leave
that layer open and close all the other layers in 1tuiles.
Then you can use the layer that is showing as a pattern.
So leave it open in your psp program.

On the image 2scene, we have many vector layers converted to raster layers.
The scene was made using the pen tool in vectors with tiles similar
to those in 1tuiles.

For practice, you are to make a scene by using the Shapes or Pen tool
in vector mode and using the tiles in 1tuile.
Open the tiles in the background color.
You can choose to have the foreground color open or not.
Making your own tiles and applying them in an image: It is easy!
First open the PSP image named coq [rooster].
On the image coq there is one layer named “contour”.
By typing in Google search the word “coloring”, you can find other
images to use if you wish.
Now open a new image 100 by 100 pixels.
Name it : tile
Here the layer is already filled with a yellow color.
Open a color of your choice.
Zoom in to 200% on the image
With the paint brush tool (size 20), draw various colors.
Then go to Effect/Effect/distortion/spiral.
Apply that effect with these configurations:
Many columns and lines
4
Ray : 90
Intensity : 70
Symmetrical: notched
(or modify these configurations if you wish)
Click OK
Go to Effects /Textures/Moulding plastics.
Apply it with these configurations:
Blur :20
Detail :14
Density : 32
Angle : 45
Color: white.
(or modify these configurations, if you wish.)
Click OK
Zoom out to normal size.
Be sure to leave “tile” image open in the psp program
so that it will later show up in your pattern choices.
On the image coq, open a new vector layer.
Name it : a
OK.
Move layer a under the contour layer.
Select the layer “contour” and lower its opacity to around 40%
Reselect layer: a
In : Style and texture:
Background color:
Choose under “pattern” the pattern which you have just made in “tile”.
It should be showing as a pattern choice.
Angle : 140.
Scale : 30.
(or modify these configurations if you wish.)
OK.
Foreground color: open a color of your choice.
With the Pen tool:
Width set at 4.00
Trace a shape around the contours of the rooster sketch.
|
We will have to play with the nodes to make curves.
Click on a node and choose to curve it before or after the node until
it matches the coq outline.
We can even add nodes or remove them if necessary.
We can close the background color temporarily * which helps us to trace contour.
When the nodes are still active, we can modify and adjust.
When finished, open the background*.
Convert the layer to raster.
|
On the image: tile, open a new raster layer.
Name it : b
OK
In foreground, choose a gradient.
OK
With the flood fill tool, fill the layer.
With the paint brush (in the example size 20), make forms of various
colors and change the size as needed.
In Effect/Effect; /Seamless tile
Method : Edge
Direction: Bilateral
Width %: 50
Transition: 50
OK
On the image: coq, open a new vector layer.
Name it : b
Choose the pen tool.
In background choose the new open pattern.
Angle: 0
Scale: 80 (or modify these configurations if you wish)
OK
Trace the head, the wings and all the remainder of the “coq” with different pattern.
Here is the result.
