Perspective

Here's a lesson on basic perspective.
Imagine a room in the House.
First prepare a tile:
Open the tile on the desktop: 1bois[wood].

Right clic to save.

For this type of tile, it is preferable to apply Effect/Image Effects/ Seamless tile.

In the options.
Method: Angle Direction: Bilateral.
Horizontal and vertical offset: 1 transition: 50 angle style: linear OK.
Save the image to update the changes.
Reduce the tile to the bottom of the desktop where it will be ready to use.

VIDEO 1

Open a new image of 500 by 400 pixels.
Transparent background.

Select the hand tool.

In view, check: Rulers and Guides.
Place the image at the top left on the desktop.
Expand the window frame.

Click in the vertical ruler (two small arrows opposed) and holding down
the mouse button, move the guide to 375 H.
Release.

To make adjustments to the Guides:
Right-click in the ruler on the guide and type 375.
We can change the color of the guide.
OK

Another click in the vertical ruler and while keeping the mouse button pressed,
move another marker to 125 H. Adjust.

Click in the horizontal ruler and drag the Guide to 275 V and adjust.
Let's start with the wall.
Open a new vector layer. Name it: mf (for the rear wall).
OK

Using the rectangle vector tool.
Under options. Mode: draw a rectangle.
View the nodes and create on vector: put a check mark.
Horizontal and vertical RADIUS: 0
Anti-aliasing: checked.

Foreground: closed.
Background: open.
Click in the background.
Choose a color.
In the example is the: # fff9af
Stroke a rectangle for the rear wall while following the guides.
Convert to a raster layer.

Open a new vector layer. Name it: md (for the wall right)
OK

With the rectangle vector tool:
Options: same configuration.
Foreground: closed.
Background: open.
Select the tab: pattern.
Restore the angle to 0 and scale 100.
Select a pattern for your choice.
In the example : stripe 01
OK

Stroke a rectangle from top to bottom overlapping a little on the rear wall
while exceeding the image at the bottom and on the right by 100 pixels.
Here, the pattern is too large.
A click in the background and decreased the scale down to 25.
OK
Convert the layer to raster.

With the selection tool.
Press the SHIFT key and hold it down while placing the cursor on the left
bottom node. (You should see this symbol)

Click on the node while pushing it upward to form the angle that joins the two walls.
Release.

Open a new vector layer.
Name it: p (for floor)
OK

Click on the p layer in the layer palette and while holding down the click,
drag the p layer below the mf layer.
Click in the background.
Click in the pattern window.
Choose the tile: 1wood.
Angle: 0
In the example the scale is 60.
OK

With the rectangle vector tool, draw a rectangle of 150 pixels wider than
the image on each side and 100 pixels below.
Convert layer raster.

With the selection tool.
Push the SHIFT key and while keeping it pressed, place the cursor
on the right top node.
Bring the node to form the corner of the 2 walls.
The wood lines must be perpendicular to the wall.
Similarly, move the top left node in toward the center node.
The wood line must be perpendicular to the 125 vertical guide.

Right click on a layer, and choose to merge the visible layers.

To remove the guides that are no longer useful, right click on the markers
in the rulers and click on remove.

Save in psp.
Name the image: room [pièce]

To add a Baseboard [plinthe]
Open a new vector layer. Name it: pl.
With the vector tool pen, settings at: point-to-point
Foreground: closed
Background: a color of your choice.
Here I pick a color located in the right wall.

Draw a straight line from the left on the floor to the right corner and continue
the line down the right wall.
Return in the opposite direction.
Important: the baseboard should be slightly larger in the right bottom corner
to be the correct perspective.
Convert this layer to raster.

On the menu bar.
Choose: Selections/ Select all.
Selections / Floating.

Apply the effect/3d/cutting.
Vertical and horizontal offset: 1
Opacity: 50
Blur: 2.00.
The interior color: no check mark
Important: in color, always choose a color of the same shade but darker
than the form to get a more natural effect.
If in doubt the black or dark grey should be used.
OK
Unselect.
Right click on the layer and Merge visible layers.

Save in psp.

VIDEO 2

Here the zip 24perspective

You will find 3 images in psp.
Open the images on the desktop.
Each image has several layers.

As a first step.
Example : with the image: 2furniture [2meuble].
Zoom in the image.
Close the visibility of layers 4, 3, 2.
Select the layer 1.
Add a new vector layer.
Foreground: closed.
Background: choose your color or pattern.
Draw your outline with the pen tool,
by basing it on the basic grey shape.
Close the shape.
Convert to a raster layer.
Remove the gray form.

Do the same for other layers.
When all your forms are completed, merge visible layers.

Here are my completed pictures.
Copy/paste the pictures as new layers in the room.

For the furniture.
With the move tool, position it on the right wall.

For the table.
With the move tool, position in the center of the room.

For the frame.
With the move tool, position it on the right wall above the furniture.
With the selection tool, keeping the SHIFT key pressed, move the right bottom
node down, based on the slope of the furniture.
Reduce the frame towards the centre with the right center node.
Move the frame and center it.

We will make a carpet under the table.
Select the layer: merged.
Open a new vector layer. Name it: carpet [tapis].
With the Ellipse tool.
Mode: draw an ellipse.
Line width: 2
Line style: here arrows opposed.
Foreground: choose a color.
Background: a gradient.

Before choosing a gradient,
Set repetitions at 40
Style: Halo
H: 50
V: 42
Now choose a gradient.
This is a custom gradient.
We have seen in a previous lesson, how to customize a gradient.
At this stage it is still possible to change the outline color, width, and line style.
OK

Form an ellipse higher and wider than the table.
Convert to a raster layer.
With the selection tool, decrease the height and position the carpet under the table.

Here a window has been added with a shining sun.
Therefore it is a source of light and we take this into account.

To give more authenticity to the perspective, it is important to lighten and darken
the elements of the room in places using the Lighten/Darken tool.
