Open a new image.
Choose the Presets : 120 X 240, Vertical.
It is on a Raster Background. Transparent setting.
Click OK
Open a new image. Type: 300 X 300 pixels.
Raster Background. Transparency : Not checked.
Click in the color window and choose the pink color.
Click OK and OK
Open a new image. Type : 200 X 200 pixels.
Raster Background.
Click in the color window.
Here, we choose: Gradient.
Now click on the small arrow or in the gradient window.
Choose the gradient that you want by selecting it.
Click OK and OK
Open a new image. Type : 250 X 250 pixels.
Raster Background.
Now click in the color window again.
Choose: Pattern.
Choose the Pattern you want by selecting it.
Click OK and OK
We can minimize the images. They will then be found at
the bottom of the workspace.
To work on an image, we can maximize the image by
clicking on the square in top of its window.
To return at the lower level, select the two small squares.
To see all the images on the desk, click on the
two small squares of each image.
Close all the images.
Open a new image : 400 X 400 pixels.
Raster Background.
Check Transparent. Click OK
Center the window. Widen the framework.
We find in the Layer Palette one layer.
It is named: Raster 1.

There are two ways of changing the Layer name.
First option.
Two clicks on layer one:
The Layer Properties window then opens.
Type the new name. Example: abaca. Click OK
Second option.
This second option does not work in PSP version 8
One click only under Raster 1.
Type the new name.
Now click in lower part.

Under Layers add a New Raster layer Name it : red Click OK
In the Tool Palette, choose: Paint Brush.
Notice the small arrow beside Paint Brush giving you
the choice of another tool: Air Brush.
By choosing Paint Brush, we now see, above,
the options for this tool.
Important, these options should well be understood.
First we have two choices of Shape: Round and Square.
We also have Brush Presets by clicking on the small arrow.
Choose the round form with these settings.
Shape : round, Size : 50, Hardness : 100, Step : 10,
Density : 100, Thickness : 100, Rotation : 0,
Opacity : 100, Blend mode : Normal.
In Materials, foreground, choose the red color.
Click OK.
On the image, left click with the brush on the top left of
the image and you will have a red dot.
To paint a red bar, hold down the left click and slide
the brush, then release the click.
Let us modify the Hardness setting to 20.
Redo the same exercise.
See the difference?
Change the Hardness back to 100.
Change the Step setting to 100. Redo the exercise.
Change the Step back to 10.
Let us change the Density setting to 20.
Redo the exercise.
Change the Density back to 100.
Let us modify the Thickness setting to 20.
Redo the exercise.
Let us modify Rotation to 230.
Redo the exercise.
Change the Thickness back to 100 and the
Rotation back to 0.
Let us change the Opacity to 20.
Redo the exercise.
Change the Opacity back to 100.
Therefore, all these settings are modifiable according
to your needs.
Note:
by using certain preset forms, certain options are inactive.
Save the image in PSP in your principal file, (my file name is bonjour) in the under-file: 2new_image, by naming your image: 2a
In Options, I suggest you choose PSP 7 compatible files.
Thus, if you share your image, it will be accessible to
previous versions. OK, SAVE.
By saving the image in PSP, it will be saved with all
its layers for the next time you open it.

Close the image 2a.
Close PSP : File, Exit.
