Play with Layers

ZIP FILE : CLOWN

 

Open the principal folder.

Add a 4th folder inside. Name it: 4ins_gif
Import the zipped file of the clown.
To unzip the file, go to “file” and click on extract to folder clown.
The clown image will now be in folder “clown” within folder 4ins_gif

Open PSP

Open Tool organizer. Palette or Document
Open the image :
3a (pspimage) which is in folder 3.
Open the image : clown which is in folder 4
Close Tool organizer.

Select image : 3a
Under Window, chose :Duplicate.
Close image :
3a

File Save the new image in Folder 4ins_gif. and name it : 4a.
In the Layers Palette : Change the name of the layer to: landscape
OK
File Save.

We have two images open on the desk : clown and 4a
Place one beside the other.
Select the image : clown
A right click in the top of the window.
Choose: Copy.

Select the image : 4a
A right click in the top of the window.
Choose : Paste, Paste as new layer.

The image is placed in the center of the window.

In the Layers Palette : Change the name of the layer for: 1clown.
OK

Close the image clown by clicking on : x

With : Move tool, click on the clown and while holding the click down, move it.
In the Layers pallet, select the layer:
1clown with the right-sided click.
Choose: duplicate the layer.
Change the name of the layer for:
2clown

With : Move Tool, move the second clown.

Notice : The layer : 2clown is activated.
If we click on the right clown : the layer 1clown is activated.
If we click on the background : the layer landscape is activated.
Select the layer : 2clown to activate it.

 

Under Image, choose : Negative image.
A right-sided click on the layer :
2clown.
Choose: Merge, Merge down.

Select : Magic Wand
Mode : Replaces    Match mode: Color    Tolerance: 0  
Contiguous : notched,     Feather: 0     Anti-alias : notched     Outside

Click inside the hat. There is now a floating selection.
In Materials, foreground choose the white color.
With : Flood Fill, fill the floating selection.
Selection, Select none.

With : Magic Wand , same configurations, select the trousers.
In Materials, Foreground, click in the window colors. Select : Gradient
One of your choice.
Style : Linear     Repeats : 10      Angle : 45
OK

With :Flood fill, fill the floating selection.
Selection, Select none.

But try experimenting by changing the Style, the gradient the angle and the Repeats!

Select the layer: landscape
Add a Raster layer, name it : sun
OK

With Selection, Circle Mode: Replace       Feather: 0        Anti-alias: notched.
Draw a circle.
In Foreground : choose the white color.
With Flood Fill, fill the selection.
Selection, Select none.

Select the layer : landscape to activate it.

With : Warp Brush, choose the left arrow. (Push)
Size : 80, the remainder of the settings by default.

With the cursor, while holding the click down, move away from the center
of the image and slide one color towards another. Stop the movement to
start again elsewhere.

Invent a landscape!

Don’t forget…! There is always Undo last command!

If you slide outside of the image and move towards the interior, you will see
that: the background image is transparent. Slide and make opaque the transparent areas. You can try out other forms and change the size.
Here, one does not need transparency.

Here is my finished image.

Right click on the layer: clown.
Merge, Merge visible .
There remains 1 Layer : Merged

 

If you have a Window : Auto Actions
Select : Always take these actions and click OK
A similar window opens for various tools.
Here, it is for the tool : Warping Brush.

Do not hesitate to use "Help" for more complete information.
Search: Search by typing a keyword. Example: keyword
"Auto Action".
Choose "Setting Auto Action preference" and then click "Display".

 

Under: Effects : Geometry, select Circle.
In the window Circle : checked : Transparent.
OK

File Save.

Select : Pan Tool
